Academic Service

I have always been involved in the life of the University, as I think it is important to help bring people together and work on common projects. It is also crucial that we look after our students as best we can and that they feel that they are at the centre of Academic life. Over the years, I have held a number of positions, both in France and abroad, such as:

2019-2024: Director of the Research Centre for Anglophone Literatures, Sorbonne, Paris (50 Permanent academic staff, 50 doctoral students).

2011-2018: Director, Ecole Doctorale “Civilisations, cultures, littératures et sociétés”, University of Paris-Sorbonne (Director of Doctoral Studies for Modern Languages, 70 professors, 240 doctoral students).

2013-18: Member of the Editorial Board, Oxford University Studies in the Enlightement.

2009-2020: Chair, Finance and Strategy Committee, Voltaire Foundation, University of Oxford.

2009-12: Chair, Scientific Committee, French Research Institutes in the Middle East (Egypt, Sudan, Yemen).

Since 2018: Associate Editor, Oxford University Studies in the Enlightenment, Voltaire Foundation.

Since 2008: Member, Finance and Strategy Committee, Voltaire Foundation, University of Oxford.

Since 2003: Member, Board, Voltaire Foundation, University of Oxford.
