Over the course of his academic career, Alexis Tadié has held senior leadership roles within universities and research institutions in France and the United Kingdom.
He has served as Director of the Maison Française d’Oxford, a CNRS humanities research centre attached to the University of Oxford, where he was in charge of academic and research strategy, staff management, budgetary oversight, and research cooperation. At Sorbonne Université, he directed the doctoral school for Modern Languages (including up to 240 doctoral students and 70 supervisors). He then became director of the research centre in Anglophone literatures, with responsability over the collective scientific strategy, the finance, the centre’s outward-facing research activities, while jointly leading two research clusters.
He has been involved for many years with the Voltaire Foundation, Oxford, including as Chair of the Finance and Strategy Committee. In addition, he has served on editorial and scientific committees for major research institutions and scholarly publications in the humanities. He has also been involved in the evaluation of universities, in France and in Europe.
